School Of Respect - About Taekwondo - Hillsboro Oregon
About Taekwando
This is a very popular martial art and especially fun to watch and learn. Tae Kwon Do means ‘art of hand and foot’. It uses powerful hand strikes, blocks and kicks as a means of self-discipline, physical conditioning, and self-defense developing the mind, body and spirit.
CHILDREN (ages 7 - 12): Kids have incredible fun as they learn respect, discipline and self-control while kicking, punching, and yelling as loud as they can! Through the master/instructor/student relationship, at-home taekwondo tenets like obedience, good relationship with siblings, chores, etc. are emphasized. Good grades and special recognition at school and elsewhere, are also reinforced with medals and trophies.
ADULT (ages 13 and up) These classes are excellent! Beginners will learn quick and effective self-defense moves in their first months of training. Our custom, 14-belt, comprehensive curriculim, with belt tests every two months is easy to use and is recorded and laminated for at-home training. Masters Ron and Molly tailor their instruction to specific needs students have. Great for weight-loss, stress-management, cardio-vascular health, self-defense, and anger-management.
FAMILY (all ages): Taekwondo training can be helpfully incorporated into the family system, making it fun to do as a whole family. All-age, all-belt classes are lighthearted yet intense, enjoyable evenings with parents and children training side by side. This is our favorite part of the school.
